Metal Gear Solid Transfarring System

It's perhaps one of the most awkward buzzwords in gaming history, but Konami's new "Transfarring" initiative actually sounds pretty great. The idea is to allow the transfer...er...transFAR...of game saves between the PS3 and Sony's handheld systems.

The first game to showcase this ability will be Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which is coming to PS3 in the new Metal Gear Solid HD collection. Gamers will be able to transfer their game save to the handheld version and vice versa.

While that's certainly interesting, in Konami's pre-E3 press video, Hideo Kojima revealed that his end goal is much more ambitious. Eventually, he wants to give gamers a seamless, HD experience on both PS3 and Sony's upcoming NGP, allowing them to use "transfarring" between both consoles, creating what he called "gaming lifestyle." This also seems to confirm that the NGP is powerful indeed, as he stressed that this would only be possible if both version were both HD and similar enough to make a seamless experience.
