Blind Man Fully Restores 1968 Camaro and Takes it for a Spin Around NASCAR Track [Video]

In one of those awe-inspiring moments where we witness the willpower of some people, Ronnie Presnell took his fully restored 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe for a lap around the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Now, what makes this story amazing is that the 62-year old retired Mecklenburg County sheriff’s deputy is blind as he lost his eyesight in a severe car accident in 1998.

Video: 2012 Camaro ZL1 Lapping the Nürburgring in 7:41.27"

We only just learned about the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1's Nürburgring lap time on Wednesday through a tweet from a GM spokesperson, yet the Detroit automaker has already released video footage from its run of the Nordschleife.

Officially, the new 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1 won't go on sale before the end of the first quarter in 2012, but GM said it used a "production-intent model, with no performance modifications", driven by Camaro Performance Engineer Aaron Link to record a lap time of 7:41.27.

GM PR Tweets that the 2012 Camaro ZL1 Laps the Nürburgring in 7:41.27

We're still a few months ahead of the market launch of the new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, but General Motors has already began leaking information about the muscle car's appearance on the famed Nürburgring racetrack.

Today, GM spokesperson Jason Laird posted a tweet saying, "Mark Reuss just confirmed ZL1 Camaro lapped Nurburgring in 7.41.27". We wouldn't be surprised if GM announces a better time down the line, but as is, the ZL1 is in the same league as the now obsolete Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 and the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.

Video: Chevy Camaro Dragster's Rear Axle Snaps at Lift-Off

One of the scariest things that can happen to a racer on the drag strip (or during any motorsport-related event, for that matter), is a serious mechanical failure as even the slightest problem can have disastrous consequences when you're moving at high-speeds.

For the driver of this first generation Chevrolet Camaro dragster, it all started with the first run when he lost control of the car and hit the sidewall.

Evidently, the driver and/or his team did not take a look or they failed to see that the car suffered significant damages when it collided with the cement wall. As a result, during the second run, the rear axle completely snapped off!

Car Game Review: "Driver: San Francisco"

Picture this: you’re chasing down an escaped con in a stolen police van when one of his buddies rams your police cruiser off the road. No matter, as you can jump out of your body and into that of suburban soccer mom, using her minivan to disable the escapee and complete the mission.

This is the main gimmick of Driver: San Francisco, the latest in a long-line of cops ‘n’ robbers driving games from developer Ubisoft. And it works, thanks to intuitive game play mechanics and missions that encourage thinking outside the box.

New Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Rated at 580-Horsepower

In a predictably linear fashion, General Motors has uprated the output numbers of one of its new models just before it launches onto the market.

When GM revealed the new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 at this year's edition of the Chicago Auto Show in February, the company said the coupe's 6.2-liter supercharged V8 would deliver an estimated 550 horsepower and a massive 550 lb.-ft. of torque (745 Nm).

Fast forward to today, and those numbers have jumped to 580-horsepower and 556 lb.-ft. (754 Nm).
