October 2010 Eroge Releases
October 1, 2010
Idols, vampires and lolis abound in a month that is more promising than the past three. There’s been lots of hype for SAGA PLANETS’ Kisaragi GOLD★STAR and new company sprite’s Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate. For Campanella fans, the fandisk is finally out this month with stories for your favorite subchars. Will School Days HQ and Hoshikaka finally come out?
Month of moe. Seriously that is all this month amounts to, a mountain of moege for those of you who only care how cute a character looks, not how interesting their character is, how well developed their personality is, how they change over time, or how well written their story and setting are. If you happen to be among that group this month is a bonanza of lolis filling up plotholes in otherwise terrible stories.
Maou o Seifuku Suru Tame no, 666 no Houhou
Company: クラウド (CROWD)
Game site: 魔王を征服するための、666の方法
Release date: October 1, 2010
Comments:
This is the fandisk to Sekai o Seifuku Suru Tame no, 3tsu no Houhou. The premise is based on a hero, a demon and a gender-changing potion. Considering almost everyone has a male and female side, it’s bound to be quite comedic (and ecchi). Not really interested although Cecilia is cute.
Well this month is certainly off to a great start with a fandisk needing no real commentary, ah life is good.
School Days HQ
Company: オーバーフロー (Overflow)
Game site: SCHOOL DAYS HQ
Release date: October 8, 2010
Comments:
New release date after being pushed back from September. This is a remake of the original School Days from 2005. The screen size expands from 640×480 to 800×600 with better backgrounds, new scenarios routes and lots more H scenes. The story still begins the same way with the love triangle between Makoto, Kotohona and Sekai. Here’s the question: Will this or Hoshikaka get delayed first? (Yes, I know it’s master up, but there’s been cases when games have been delayed even after master up…)
I have yet to figure out the purpose of this, a minimal resolution increase and more H scenes.. but I just cannot imagine anyone caring about a remake of a game that offers little more than extra pixels for more H scenes.

Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi
Company: フォン (feng) (finally ... FENG!)
Game site: 星空へ架かる橋
Release date: October 15, 2010
Comments:
New release date after being pushed back from September. Kazuma moved to Yamabiko-chou due to his younger brother Ayumu’s health and ended up staying at the Yorozuyo inn, owned by his father’s friend. On his first day at school, he got lost and asked for directions from a fellow student, Ui. She led him on an offbeat path and he accidentally fell and kissed her. Coincidentally, this was all seen by Ui’s friend, Ibuki, who thought he was a bad guy and declared him to be an enemy. Here’s the question: Will this or School Days get delayed first?
You know what, screw you feng. I have probably written enough when commenting on this game to rival a full review, nothing more needs to be said besides LEARN TO SET REALISTIC RELEASE DATES!
uni.
Company: CIRCUS (yet another circus work)
Game site: uni.
Release date: October 28, 2010
Comments:
New release date after being pushed back from September. This is an all-ages love comedy ADV which takes place in a girls-only school and the main character is a girl. Hoshizora Kirara is the perfect girl with great grades and personality, but she has one thing that worries her: her own name. While some friends think that it’s a cute name, most of her classmates think that it’s weird. She resents her father who used to be part of a motorcycle gang, and wishes to leave her home and live alone. Even entering Fuumi Gakuen doesn’t help her downcast feelings until she notices a recruitment poster that was looking for a member to join the Hatsunejima student discipline committee. It never ceases to amaze me how many games they spinoff the D.C. series. And I’m interested in them all…
Well at least Circus is doing something slightly different even if it is still in much the same way. Does make you wonder if direct Da Capo spinoffs are the only trick in this Circus though, as anything else they touch tends to wind up on the wrong side of terrible. Then again I don’t even care anymore, as long as people keep buying into it, Circus will always be Circus.
Oresama no RagnaRock
Company: あかべぇそふとつぅTRY (AkabeeSoft2 TRY)
Game site: 俺サマのラグナRock
Release date: October 28, 2010
Comments:
This is the debut game of AkabeeSoft2 TRY. A long time ago, there was a great war known as Ragnarok where many Gods and Demons were thought to have perished. Now in the northern most part of Japan, the demon lord Njord spends his day being irritated. Is it because of his poverty? Well, that too… but it’s because of those ‘Gods’ on TV. The Gods were the ones that actually won the war and now they’re all over the TV, singing their heavenly songs. He can’t take it anymore and drags his imouto Nerthus along to fight against the Gods in a battle of songs. This is a new Ragnarok… no, RagnaRock!
I love how Norse mythology is so easily bastardized. Well, they’re cute so that’s all that matters. The most interesting part is the system; it calls itself a bloodless country takeover SLG. Japan is basically divided in many areas which you have to try to takeover with your demonic idol charms. As standard for SLGs, you can up various attributes like vocals, performance and stamina. Then you fight by singing in competitions broadcasted on TV. It actually sounds kinda fun, even if there’s not much story to it.
Yes an idol popularity contest story based on a LSD trip to Scandinavia, brilliant idea, simply genius! I am sure this is so great a contribution to mankind the creators are next on the list for a Nobel Peace Prize already. Honestly I firmly believe that anyone who thinks this is a good idea or owns a copy of this game should be arrested for “An extreme case of bad taste, requiring immediate quarantine from the rest of the gene pool”. Here I had been under the impression that Macross represented the absolute limit of how badly idols can screw up something otherwise awesome. Sadly I must now admit my crushing defeat, Akabeesoft2 TRY you have bested the limitations of my imagination, my hat is off to you.
Perhaps there is something worth acknowledging in regards to the vaguely interesting popularity system, at least for those of you into games where idols throw themselves at you due to the protagonists fortuitous proximity. The idea of managing popularity among a target demographic over a geographical area is interesting but it is also quite immediately apparent this game does not make full use of such a concept. Instead RagnaRock focuses more on the mind numbing idol aspect and how it ever so loosely ties into Norse mythology.
THIS IS WHAT I'vE been waiting FORR
ChuxChu Idol 2 -melodiesxmemories-
Company: ユニゾンシフト・アクセント (UnisonShift Accent)
Game site: Chu×Chuアイドる2 -melodies×memories-
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
This is the sequel to ChuxChu Idol. Some years later, the popular idol Chuchu is missing! With the entertainment world in confusion, Chuchu’s ‘sister’ Chuuno Churam takes the stage for her debut under the same name. But she has a secret! She’s actually the combined form created when a female student Yukino and a vampire Ruuchu kiss. Having accidentally seen them kiss, Daigo is forced to be her servant. I didn’t play the original ChuxChu and vampires aren’t really my thing. It’s not often that you have two idol-themed games in a month though.
Along with RagnaRock comes a game almost as offensively retarded for those of you interested in moe, idols, and of course vampires. Clearly a game for people who are both deaf enough to avoid hearing the obnoxious noise this game no doubt generates and spend most of their time fantasizing about molesting pointlessly moe characters with less depth than a half empty shot glass. Yet another shining example as to why moe is poisonous to intelligence, causing a loss of judgement and impairment of vision that leads one to find enjoyment in little girls with big eyes bouncing around the screen regardless of the setting and story. I would be all for a special “Idiot tax” applied to games such as this for anyone wishing to buy it. Afterall cigarettes are taxed and they do far less damage to you.
Sacred†Vampire
Company: Silver Bullet Automatic
Game site: Sacred†Vampire-セイクリッドヴァンパイア-
Release date: October 22, 2010
Comments:
This is the first game by Silver Bullet Automatic. Kazuma is a vampire, sucking on virgin blood every night. He is evil personified. However, he has fallen in love with a human and wishes that he can live as a human. He ends up attending the St. Mary Seishin Catholic School out of all places and meets that girl again. But because he is a vampire, she will definitely not forgive him. Hey, it’s another vampire game! While the story probably won’t deviate much from most vampire stories (see Vampire Knight), I do like Nino-ko’s art. Maasha is especially delicious with her heterochromia ^o^
What is up with this month, first idols then vampires. I do wonder though if they are trying to cash in with the release of the Fortune Arterial anime however as the timing and plot intersect a little too conveniently. Still Sacred Vampire comes across as extremely drama laden in an angsty teen sort of way, especially given how lame the plot and setting are even by vampire story standards. Almost everything involved in the summary of this game feels like a forcible setup by the writers, as though they were unable to come up with a logical motivation for their characters actions and so lazily threw it all together hoping that by using vampires they would be able to get away with it as most other vampire stories do.
Crayon Tulip ~Chidori to Koruri no Yuuwaku Jugyou
Company: SCORE
Game site: くれよんちゅーりっぷ ~ちどりとこるりの誘惑授業~
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
Jun is an aspiring teacher who has non-blood-related twin imoutos, Koruri and Chidori. One day their mother and older sister tell him that they are actually succubi. Succubi require a man’s essence to become adults and they wish that that he will help Koruri and Chidori become adults. He gets help from chibi teacher Tsubame to enter the girls-only boarding school that they are attending. For his precious imoutos, he will do anything…
It is quite obvious what the target market is. All 4 heroines are small… too small, actually. The largest would be student council member (and cousin) Kuina, who is 150cm tall and has an impressive 3 sizes of 73/53/74. They’ve covered all the bases with wanko, yamada nadeshiko, tsuntsuntsundere and onee-san types. I do have to admit they are really really cute though, especially in the OP! With the children’s song and picture book animation, I’m sure anyone would find it really cute (ecchi parts aside). There’s probably not much story, but you’re sure bound to get lots of amaenbou and ichaicha! Of course this all hinges on whether or not you’re fine with jailbait.
Jailbait huh? I think this goes so far beyond jailbait you should be arrested for even thinking about it. Then again if Micchi was arrested then and I would have too much writing to do by myself. But enough about the pedophiles interested in this game as at least it helps keep them away from real children, on to considering how well formulated and constructed the story is! At least that is what I would like to do if there was any story to consider here, unfortunately however even Circus puts more effort put into their repetitive content. What everything boils down to is this game exists solely to help keep sexual predators satisfied and away from real children, a lofty goal indeed as I for one am glad SCORE is doing their part to keep Micchi out of jail and blogging, bless the noble souls who created this game.
Nanairo Kouro
Company: Journey
Game site: なないろ航路
Release date: October 29, 2010 Delayed to November 26, 2010
Comments:
This is the Journey’s debut game, featuring the D.C.II scenario writers and illustrators from HOOKSOFT, MOONSTONE and Marmalade. Separated from his parents, with no school to attend and living in the large pipes in the park, Sakuta has been unlucky all his life. However, one spring day while on his way shopping, he gets drenched by a lot of water and a girl named Enishi also shows up proclaiming to be an apprentice goddess of marriage. Shortly thereafter Mirai, the ojousama of a wealthy company group, falls in love at first sight with him. She brings him along to the girls-only Princess Mary school aboard a luxury cruiser liner and helps enrol him in it. As the only boy among high society girls from many countries, has his fortunes finally changed?
A twist on the love potion idea: just get an inexperienced love goddess to dump pheromones on you. The setup is kind of convenient having him suddenly live the rich life with all these girls from different backgrounds and with varying appeals. However, aside from the nice art, high class atmosphere and exotic locales, there isn’t much that sets this apart from other moe-ge. For this reason, I’ll be playing other games this month instead. Also, main heroine Asuka Mirai has the exact same name as Yuu’s guy friend in Hoshimemo.
Nice to see that even with a company composed of people from an all star group of established companies the writers can still manage to put my own laziness to shame. A plot this ill conceived does not bode well for this company’s future, given the first game has nothing but moe going for it without a story or protagonist to stand out amongst dozens of better written games. The biggest problem, more than the lack of impact from the setting and core plot is how easy everything is, even when you like moe games there is something missing when everything is pretty much handed to you on a platter at the start. Why even bother playing when there are plenty of better games which are just as moe to choose from. Nanairo Kouro is little more than a cute version of Classy Cranberries.
I actually feel like it’s less of a company and more of a bunch of moe-ge writers and artists doing a conference call and saying, “Hey, let’s create a game together and it’ll be really popular since all our individual fanbases will come buy it!” Maybe this will be the only game that Journey will produce.
I sincerely hope it is the only game they make if this is the best they can do.
Kisaragi GOLD★STAR
Company: SAGA PLANETS
Game site: キサラギGOLD★STAR
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
Six friends live together in an apartment Kosumosu-sou. Even though it is old and run-down, their are always positive and enjoying their time together. Even now they are attending the same school, Kisaragi Gakuen, and each of them has a special talent, except Futami. He’s just an ordinary student and has always watched over his friends like a mother. Even though his osananajimi are all talented, they cannot do anything without him. Together they have a big dream, which will bring happiness to them all.
パパラー♪ パパラー♪ パパラパラパパパラー♪
パパラー♪ パパラー♪ パパラパラパパパラー♪
パパラー♪ パパラー♪ パパラパラパパラパラパラ♪
パララー♪ パパラー♪
After being bumpy jumpy, it’s now time to papara~ I’m definitely playing this because I consider their previous game, Natsuyume Nagisa, one of best of 2009. SAGA PLANETS’ stories are well written, their art is pretty and their cast is always filled with popular seiyuus. I’m pretty sure if they keep even a little bit of Hitsuji’s charms in this game, this will make for a heartwarming story. It’s also great for those who like osananajimi charas. For me, I like Saya and Ichika (the tsun iouto voiced by Samoto Fuuri). Ichika-chan, I’ll give you food, so come to me~
Getting introductions and developments out of the way quickly by having everyone live together is a nice touch indeed, no more worrying about how to interact with or have characters meet when they have all already known each other. I find myself even more drawn to the completely standard worthless protagonist who no doubt will have some sort of significance later on in the story despite otherwise being a waste of carbon and oxygen. I was less than impressed by Natsuyume Nagisa and the feeling has been carried over and amplified with Kisaragi where I am left to remorsefully shake my head and ponder what anyone could see of value in this game. Artwork is nothing special, characters are obviously bland, and story is as half assed as they come, it would take an amazing masochist to find enjoyment here. It is an insult to eroge players that games like this are not only made expected to sell well, but that people actually do buy them. I may not like moe games but I am at least sane enough to recognize the difference between good and bad moe.
Ouka Sengoku ~Nobunaga-chan no Koishite Yabou!?~
Company: ApRicoT
Game site: 桜花センゴク~信長ちゃんの恋して野望!?~
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
Mitsuhide is an extremely poor ‘student ronin’ who gets by via part-time jobs. One day, he receives an enrollment letter to Sengoku Gakuen and readily accepts it. On his first day, a girl named Nobunaga points her sword at him: “How dare you show your face to me, I’m gonna cut your head off!”. Fearful for his life, he explains that he’s not the real Akechi Mitsuhide, but that their names are just the same by coincidence. One by one, he meets girls with the name of other famous generals, such as Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin, who all mistaken him for the actual Mitsuhide.
Basically this is similar to Koihime, except with the Sengoku era. I have absolutely no problems with turning major historical figures into girls, but it’s weird hearing them called names like Masamune-chan. Apricot specializes in ecchi comedies and just looking at the sample CGs, it looks to be quite fun. There’s also extra scenarios after completing each heroine’s route for more sweet loving time. Many popular seiyuus like Gogyou Nazuna, Matsuda Risa, Aoba Ringo and Miru lend their voices to this game. I like the chara designs and Masamune-chan is so cute with her heart-shaped eyepatch! Hau omochikaeri~!
Obviously a game that instantly draws a parallel with Koihime just for the similarities of their concepts, however the biggest difference is Ouka Sengoku has a larger emphasis on making the characters cute and less emphasis on the story itself. I feel that overall Baseson has done a much better job with the Koihime series than all the spinoffs it has spawned combined, the imitations seem to always miss what made Koihime a good game. Ah well at least Ouka Sengoku should have enough comedy to be somewhat amusing… I sure hope so at least as if not it would probably be a really boring game to play.
Shukusai no Campanella!
Company: ういんどみるOasis (Windmill Oasis)
Game site: 祝祭のカンパネラ!
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
This is the fandisk for Shukufuku no Campanella!, featuring after stories for the four main heroines, as well as another stories for subheroines Nina, Salsa, Ritos and Avril. There’s also “Garnet Quest”, an extra quiz battle AVG featuring over 1000 questions. You get points for winning quiz battles, which you can use to buy items to help with other battles. At the same time, it will raise affection points and you can try to win over your partner. And all of this will be in widescreen 1280×720. It’ll be lots of fun for those Campanella fans who remember every trivial detail in the game. Now why doesn’t Golem get a route?
Finally another fandisk to save me time and effort, though I do have one thing to note here, I agree completely with Micchi GOLEM ROUTE PLEASE!
ARGH! (haven't download the prequel...!! nooo)

Seirei Tenshou ~Crystal Friends~
Company: ザウス (XUSE)
Game site: 聖なるかな・外伝 精霊天翔~Crystal Friends~
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
This is the fandisk to Seirei Tenshou and is an ADV/STG just like the original, but with more ichaicha episodes. The game consists of 40 short stories featuring many alternate scenarios that might have occurred. In the STG parts, you can now play as Liolina and Liliana (with frying pan as a weapon). If you’ve been sticking with the Seinarukana series, this should be right up your alley. Normally I’d comment on the heroines being quite small, but I think nothing beats Crayon Tulip this month.
Fans here is your disk, have fun. (man... I think this is new, but it's a fandisk... T_T)
Zettai Imouto Genri Shugi!!
Company: 脳内彼女 (Nounai Kanojo)
Game site: 絶対★妹原理主義!!
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
As the heir of the family dojo and their only brother, Takuma wants to set a good example for his four imoutos and trains hard every day. However, the oldest imouto Mizuki suggested one day that they tear down the dojo and build a shop instead. All the other girls quickly agree and so it becomes a battle between him and his imoutos for the fate of the family dojo! In order to win him over, they plan to seduce him all the time. Will he be able to fight off their advances (and his own primal urges) and preserve the family dojo?
Just give in already! It’s just a dojo! Besides, you can build a maid cafe instead and dress up all your imoutos in maid outfits and hadaka apron! This game is similar to Nounai Kanojo’s previous title Zettai Imouto Shijou Shugi, although there’s no direct relation. I find the artwork a bit lacking depth though, maybe because of the way lineart and shadows are drawn. Out of the available imoutos, Kanade and Akane are definitely my favorites. And what’s with the random pitcher plant devouring him in the OP…?
This game almost sounds really fun to me when I imaging him beating up his little sisters anyway. The rest of it sounds pretty dull and is a fairly standard setup for a game that specializes in a single trait, in this case imouto. Luckily this game is low in this months list so I am running out of hate and will leave it at that.
As far as the artwork I think what Micchi saw as lack of depth is due to the shades more than lineart, the shadow colors are often too close to the base color leaving to a lack of definition. Without a clearly defined shade there is no means to give form to the lineart leading to it looking more flat and unappealing.
Soukyuu no Soleil ~Fullmetal Eyes~
Company: SkyFish
Game site: 蒼穹のソレイユ~FULLMETAL EYES~
Release date: October 29, 2010 Delayed to early 2011
Comments:
Soukyuu no Soleil is a tactical battle SLG which is the successor to SkyFish’s previous “Valkyrie Saga” titles Shirogane no Soleil and Gouen no Soleil. The story takes place in another world where there is a white and a blue moon in the sky. The humans are constantly fighting magical monsters called ‘berserk’, which are weapons which activate using the souls of humans. Valkyries come from the white moon to aid them in battle. This is where the main protagonist Sora meets the valkyrie Odette on the battlefield and fight alongside one another. The battle system is like chess where you have to your pieces on the board and engage in battle. Of course, there’s battle animations just like in all other SkyFish titles. All characters are voiced, including the protagonist Sora. If you liked the other games in this series, this should be a fun pick-up for you.
Gotta love continuation games, when writing a commentary on them There is not a whole lot that needs to be said. I would however rather they just went TRPG system for such games though, they are more fun and interesting making the battle scenes feel less like work.
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate
Company: sprite
Game site: 恋と選挙とチョコレート
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
This is the first game by sprite. Two childhood friends attend Takafuji Gakuen: Yuuki, who wants to fall in love, and Chisato, who hates chocolates. They are part of the food research club along with their friend and classmate Mifuyu. Even though it’s a food research club, they don’t actually do anything except for buying candy with the club budget and enjoying their time together. It is an irreplaceable place to them. However, the club’s existence is in danger with one of the student council president candidates, Satsuki, vowing to close all clubs that don’t do anything. Since their club is in this list, they do their best to save it but there’s no other way but to participate in the student council president elections and defeat her. Yuuki is persuaded by Chisato to run in the election. At first he isn’t interested at all, but since the club members are trying their hardest, he too wants to win to save the club.
I’ve been really excited for this game ever since it was announced. The soft watercolor-style artwork by Akanashi Yuu is really beautiful. The story is by first-time writer Katagi Kou, but the general feedback from those who played the trial has been quite positive in terms of word choice and pacing. I also really liked the OP song and animation. This is a really tough choice for me to play this or Kisaragi first…
I am a bit torn here, I do have a fondness for the style of artwork though some of the proportions and lineart is lacking at times. Still the whole save the club storyline is a bit dull and cliché, while I liked the feeling of slice of life, the whole wanting to fall in love bit however kind of ruins a lot making the protagonist a lot less interesting. The real question is how will the game play out, when a protagonists has pointless eroge goals, and there is only a save the club story to bring people together Sprite sure has their work cut out for them if they want this to be a good game. I think I may give this game a shot to see how everything comes together, though I am not especially hopeful.
Lovekami
Company: PULLTOP
Game site: 恋神 -ラブカミ-
Release date: October 29, 2010
Comments:
In the future of a slightly different Japan, people are worried about the declining birth rate. To solve this problem, many gods come to the human world to help. One of them is a childlike kami-sama named Tsukuyomi who comes to live with Souta. Even though she is very wise, she also lacks a lot of common sense. And so Souta’s new rowdy school life begins. This is another kami-sama game by PULLTOP after Yunohana. It seems like they’re going with a new group of illustrators for this project, headed by Yashima Takahiro. The plot itself doesn’t interest me that much, but I really love the 3D PVs on PULLTOP’s channel. They’re so funny and cute! Ushishishi~
Setting reminds me of a nukige with a cheap lead in to justify tons of H scenes without any work. A silly game for silly people, Lovekami is one of those games that cannot even stand out enough in a bad way to be worth the ten or so minutes it takes to write up commentary on it.
As a side note the PVs were annoying.
That’s because you don’t understand them.
As I believe I have mentioned before: nor would I ever want to understand this.

Company: コンチェルト (Concerto)
Game site: 朧小町
Release date: October 29, 2010 Delayed to January 28, 2011
Comments:
New release date after being pushed back from June. Blessed with good quality trees, the village of Oboro had prospered in the forest industry in the Heian era. It has been passed down for generations that the girls from this area are very beautiful. This is because they are descendants of Oboro-hime, a woman of unsurpassed beauty who lived in this fog-covered area. Now, the town is renamed Tsumagoi-shi, but the story of the Oboro maidens still continues. I have the feeling that this will be delayed again, considering the OP isn’t out yet. While the story nor graphics catch my attention, the OP song “Messenger” is actually quite nice.
and of course I'll be waiting for Ragnarock and Full metal Eyes....
but also Xuse release... but... arGHH!!! I need moar HDD SPACE!!!
